Outdoor Plaza District Music Fest

On September 27th from 7 to 11pm the potential thousands of participants in the all-day annual PLAZA DISTRICT FESTIVAL will have an opportunity to extend their festivities into the evening. The Convergence Collective is partnering with the Plaza District to create the first ever PLAZA DISTRICT MUSIC FEST.

The Convergence Collective is currently lining up our favorite local bands to play on the large outdoor stage that will be assembled within the district. It will be a great opportunity to show case 3 or 4 bands to the many festival goers. In the past, there have been over 2,500 people attend the days activities--so, we have great hopes that the new "night-life" of the festival will create a great atmosphere to enjoy GREAT LOCAL MUSIC.

The Plaza District Festival

Festival attendees will once again enjoy live music, dance, art, and international foods at the 11^th annual Plaza District Festival Saturday, September 27th at N.W. 16^th Street between Indiana and Gatewood Ave. The festival will kick off at noon with colorful Chinese Dragon Dancers and a children’s balloon release. Festival activities will continue until 7:00 p.m. The Plaza Festival provides an opportunity for the community to celebrate the area’s cultural diversity and artistic talent.

Throughout the day, audiences will enjoy a variety of free dance and musical performances, including Mexico Folkloric, hip hop, salsa, ballroom dancing, belly dancing, and musical theater.Visual art experiences are offered as well! View and purchase fine quality artwork from local artist booths, or participate in arts education throught the "Art-in Action" area where professional artists teach. Children can paint on the "paint wall" while  professional artists encourage their work!

To cap the evening, the Plaza District Festival presents "Plaza Music Festival" where local singer/songwriters will showcase their talents onstage. This evening portion of the event will run from 7-11 PM.
