Beauty is everywhere - and it always speaks of God. Creation reflects the creator. All of humanity--everyone, is an ikon of God. Often there are groups that want to first speak of the brokennes, the mire, the shattered nature of ikon and creation. No person , living in this world beyond childhood (and tragically including childhood), can escape the reality something is broken. BUT, this brokenness isnot our first conversation--not our first glance--not our first reality.
Beauty is first, not brokeness. Beauty is at the beginning - and continues to burst through all of creation. We must seek out beauty - we must create. It is within creating and making space for beauty that we come more aware that it is/was/will be our first reality.
Art is in the everyday. Pause before beauty--reflecting on and respecting the ikon of God in yourself/others, the beauty of creation, and the capacity to create anew within our world.
Art is in the artist. So, we celebrate the artist--those courageous enough to express all the heaviness, slant, curiosity, and emotion that resides deep within the one who creates. We encourage more people to see themselves as expressive and creative--hoping to explore more of the beauty/story that lives within others.
